Rhapis laosensis is a rare and endangered species occurring naturally in Laos and adjacent norhteastern
Thailand where it grows in lowland rain forest. The commonly known as the Laos lady palm.
The Rhapis laosensis is a small palm. Sparse clumper are thin and reach 5 feet high. The leaves
are composed of two to five but usually three. The leaves are strap shaped or oblong shaped with a small, abruptly pointed tip.
They are soft, slightly, recurved and glossy medium green above and paler and duller green beneath.
Rhapis laosensis is an attractive species makes a beautiful tall groundcover. It is adaptable to zones 10 and 11
and possibly in warm microclimates of 9b. This palm needs much moisture.
