Cycas pectinata is commonly found growing wild in moist forest, especially common in
northern Thailand where this cycad enjoys elevations up to 900 meters. This cycad can also be
quite often seen growing domestically in private gardens or more especially along the side
of the road in villages.
Cycas pectinata also occurs in northeastern India, Bhutan, southern China, Laos, and Vietnam. Large mature
specimens are rare and Cycas pectinata is most commonly seen growing as a small understorey plant, but can reach
as high as 12 meters when mature.
